2009 is here!

As you should all be aware, the end of 2008 brought a turbulance to the economic climate that has not been seen for some time. As a result the Australian dollar is heading in a mainly downward direction. This has directly affected the cycling industry. Yep. You guessed it, prices have gone up. Unfortunately it hasn't stopped there. The unstable nature of the world economy means that these prices are not set in stone. In other words, expect more price increases soon. So, if you were planning on getting that new bike, sooner would be better than later. There's no time like the present!

We have gone Y-Bike crazy, can you help....

The Trek Y-series of bikes are unknown to most, but to staff at Gran Prix they are a rare and noble breed. They have an OCLV main frame in the shape of a Y and an alloy rear triangle. This makes them the perfect dual suspension bike as they can be turned into a single speed with no hassle. Read more here.

Welcome Jess

The team at Gran Prix has recently been joined by new staff member Jess. She will be working along side Dr. Doug in the workshop and bringing a new female perspective to the shop, which was previously dominated by the blokes. Jess comes from a commuter cycling background – if you need to get somewhere, ride there! – but she's also looking forward to getting more mtb and road experience with the GP team.

Social Rides

Both our road and mountain social rides have continued to be extremely successful. The road rides will continue to be held every Saturday morning. We haven't had a beginners mountain bike ride in a while so were having one soon.
