Fortius

The Fortius is an interactive trainer with unlimited capabilities; it is equipped with a revolutionary braking system enabling extra-hard training sessions to be carried out. The very powerful motor brake realistically simulates downhill and uphill runs. Running downhill the bike carries on rolling with the rear wheel being driven so you can stop pedalling. The uphill resistance formulas are virtually exact. The motor brake is a first from Tacx in the field of training.

The software consists of the three Virtual Reality terrains, Catalyst Training software, Analyser software and a Real Life Video demo. Many characteristic cycling situations are simulated and realistically experienced in Tacx's virtual world. You can ride on your own or with several other riders; you will set your own course using the manoeuvrable steering frame. The riders move smoothly, naturally and have an excellent pedalling action. They shout with joy, rise from the saddle, shift gears, snort and take spectacular falls. The play element is accentuated by the abundance of options: male/female, various teams, strips, racing or mountain bikes. You can even choose your own weather conditions affecting your cycling: wind direction, wind force, sunshine, cloudy, rain or fog.

The Catalyst Training software with its fitness tests and training programmes focusing on power, heart rate and gradient offers you the same capabilities as an advanced Cosmos Ergotrainer. Using the Analyser software you can bring up previously completed training in the form of charts and tables. A demo covering a known run is included in order to gain an impression of Real Life Video.

Recommended system resources

Processor, Pentium IV; memory, 512MB; hard disk space, 850MB; graphics card, DirectX9 compatible 3D card with 128 MB of memory (GeForce FX or equivalent, not shared); sound card, DirectSound compatible; 1 free USB port; DVD player (for use of Real Life Video only) and OS, Windows 2000 or XP.

Bushido

The Tacx Bushido is an entirely wireless ergotrainer. It does not even require to be hooked up to the power mains. Bushido uses the ANT protocol for data transfer. With help of the handlebar mounted computer you can adjust the braking resistance of a pre-programmed training program. You can do so in power (watt) or slope (%).

The braking unit also generates the energy it needs by means of a dynamo. When you start cycling the braking unit is activated and starts working. That is why you always need a minimum cycling speed for this system to work, there is no battery. But because energy is generated, the brake can be fully wireless. No mains voltage is needed.

The braking unit supplies the training information such as speed, power out put (in watt) and pedalling frequency (the number of strokes per minute) wirelessly to the handlebar mounted computer. The cyclist can read this information on the LCD display.

Satori

Tacx's newest trainer. The Satori is the super power trainer for Pro Tour teams. Its sturdy, ergonomic frame stands rock-steady on the floor. The brake consists of a very powerful Neodynium magnet and an extralarge steel flywheel. The position of the magnet relative to the flywheel is adjusted with the 10-position remote resistance lever. This gives rise to a magnetic field of such magnitude that it enables training to take place at unbelievably high power with low pedalling frequencies.

Sirius

The Sirius is a striking cycletrainer featuring "silent" action. This magnetic brake is fitted with a Soft Gel roller and a stainless steel running surface. A balanced 2 kg steel flywheel gives a smooth pedalling action. The resistance lever provides 10 resistance settings. The frame is collapsible and has a slight spring while being ridden.
The Sirius is fitted with a Tacx Soft Gel roller which has additional noise reduction properties. The roller is manufactured in soft rubber plastic as is combined with a non-wearing stainless steel running surface. Indeed this action so unique that we have had the system patented. Tacx offers a lifetime warranty covering roller wear.

Speedmatic

The Speedmatic features the traditional magnetic brake and a 1 kg balanced flywheel. The remote resistance lever changes the position of the magnets in the brake unit relative to one another. There are 10 different resistances available: from a light breeze on a flat road through to a steep hill climb. The indication scale shows the setting selected. The power increases as you cycle faster and/or at a harder setting. The conventional Cycletrack frame is extremely stable and collapsible.
