The WhiteLite HP 2W is a new addition to Topeak's ever popular range of products, built to Topeak's high standards of quality but at a fraction of the price of what we would have expected. The 'WhiteLite HP 2W' as the name suggests features a 2W LED which is able to punch well above its weight competing directly with lights that feature a much higher wattage rating. The LED is housed in a aluminium casing to protect the LED and also helps to disperse the heat that these high wattage LED's generate. The lamp comes with two mounts to suit both classic and over-sized handlebars and similarly the battery pack also comes with two mounts to suit either a fork steerer cap mount or a stem mount.

The standard battery is amazingly a Lithium-Ion Battery that will happily run for five hours on high beam and for ten hours on the low beam setting, on top of this you also get an extra half hour of 'reserve tank' run time on the low setting no matter which level you were running at previously, after this last half hour of 'reserve tank' running the light will automatically shut off. To ensure that you are not surprised by the sudden darkness that comes with running the battery flat you are given plenty of warnings, the indicator light on the battery pack will flash for a minute before going in to the half hour of 'reserve tank' mode and then will again flash wildly when within a minute of the light shutting off.

The WhiteLite also features the ability to be able to add an extra LED housing for an extra blinding experience, this will obviously half all of your run times except for the 'reserve tank' which only drops to twenty minutes.

Charging the battery pack is a snap, simply plug in the charger and the microprocessor inside does the rest. Once again the indicator on the battery will let you know when the battery has completed its charge cycle and you are good to go again.
