This is the most common age for kids to start to learn how to ride.  Some might have already been on a learner bike, or even tried out a bike with pedals.  Many will not have been on a bike before at all and this is the ultimate size bike to learn on.

 

For this reason, all bikes in this age category still come with training wheels and a couple of bikes even come with internal gears for those kids who are more adventurous, ride longer and need to tackle some small hills.
