About UsAbout Banner

Gran Prix Bicycles was established 30 years ago as a small locally owned bike shop in Glenhuntly Road. Since then we have been striving to make Gran Prix a better place to visit, shop and have your bike serviced. The staff at Gran Prix are constantly training to be up to date with the latest bike techology, mechanical knoweledge and Bike fitting techniques. The Gran Prix team pride themselves on quality workmanship, solving customers biking issues and thinking outside the box, to get you the result you want. We stock a wide range of boutique parts that are hard to get in Australia, including White Industries Components and Monkeylectic Monkey Lights.

In June 2010, one of the shop owners, Stephen Hart was tragically taken from us while on a cycling trip overseas.  Since then Stephen’s legacy has continued on through his wife, Kay, who continues to run the shop with Raenier, Jess and Brad.

The Gran Prix Team

KAY is generally known as K-Mart by everyone or Kaya . Kay is carrying on Stephen’s legacy, continuing to run the business. Like Stephen, Kay loves animals. She has two active and vibrant dogs, SnowPea ; a 1-year-old Whippet  and Bluey ; a 5-year-old Egyptian Pharaoh Hound.

Raenier started at Gran Prix over 6 years ago and is normally the friendly face to greet you when you come to Gran Prix.

You can catch Raenier out on the MTB trails heading up our MTB social rides and just riding for fun.

Jess is just at the beginning of her love affair with the Bike Industry, having started at Gran Prix as a trainee Mechanic in 2008. She's the shop's epic commuter cyclist, riding from Brunswick West to Caulfield South each day.  She's also passionate about custom wheel building, and has completed a Certificate 3 in Bicycle Mechanics through Bicycle Training Australia.
Brad is the latest addition to the Gran Prix Team. Brad is passionate about getting the community on bikes and is a proud new member of the Gran Prix team. Brad is often seen at cyclocross events and is happiest when he's on two wheels. You will see Brad doing what he loves most - playing with bikes in the workshop. With years of experience as a bicycle mechanic, your two-wheeled baby will be in safe hands. Brad will be joining the Gran Prix Saturday Social Ride as soon as he can get a Road Trek bike.
